SS – exam review for Thurs. June 11.  Students are to be finished the back of the review sheet (Society Comparison Chart).

The exam schedule has been handed out.  Review week begins on June 9th with reviews handed out.   

Suggestions for studying a head of time:

ELA: poetic devices, types of poems, literary terms

SS: vocabulary and key concepts

Ms Cherniack will be available 3 lunches out of the 5 lunches in each week before exams for extra help. 

Week of June 1 – Tues, Wed, and Thurs. (students had been informed of these times on Mon.)

Week of June 8 – TBD based on student needs.

SS for 8-5 and 8-6  Middle Ages booklet Due Fri. June 5.  Students have class time to work and we are correcting approximately 15-20 questions a day.

SS Rome Write-Up for 8-5 and 8-6 Due Mon. June 1

Each student has chosen a topic (some have chosen to work in pairs or in threes) and is writing a one page (if typed) paper, which uses paragraphs, summarizing the key information about their topic.  

If students have chosen to work with others, each student is responsible for a page but will receive a group mark based on all the work as a group.

Students are to have a minimum of one print resource and one online resource.  Students have received library, class, and computer time.

SS 8-5 and 8-6   Jot notes on Pax Romana, The Decline of the Roman Empire, The Roman Legacy, and People (list on Roman Unit instructions) due Wed. May 26.  Students have had class time.

SS for 8-5 and 8-6 Roman Religions (including Christianity) and the Map.  Due Tue. May 26  From the textbook they are doing jot notes on Roman Religious Beliefs and Jesus Christ and the Birth of Christianity, and students will label the  map from their instructions for the Roman Unit.  Students have had class time.

Architecture (Building Methods, the Forum, Roads, Baths)and Pompeii Due Mon. March 25

SS for 8-5 and 8-6 Roman Unit Jot Notes

Students should be finished up to and including Roman Society (which includes Republic to Empire and Roman Laws).

Extra Help and Binder Organization

Tuesday, May 19 at lunch.

As exams will be in approximately a month, I will be offering extra help at lunch.   It is by choice for students to attend, and students are expected to have specific areas they have questions about.  Students are also welcome to come and study quietly.

Students will be presenting their monologue in costume and handing in their artwork/poster and research.
