ELA – Outsider Review and Plotline, Orion and the Sisters Due Mon.

ELA Dust review and begin Outsider Review for Friday June 12

ELA – exam review for Wed. June 10.  Students are to be finished the first page (terms) and the back of the second page (identify alliteration, metaphor, etc.).  Students are welcome to work on the rest of the booklet at home ahead of what is posted.

The exam schedule has been handed out.  Review week begins on June 9th with reviews handed out.   

Suggestions for studying a head of time:

ELA: poetic devices, types of poems, literary terms

SS: vocabulary and key concepts

Ms Cherniack will be available 3 lunches out of the 5 lunches in each week before exams for extra help. 

Week of June 1 – Tues, Wed, and Thurs. (students had been informed of these times on Mon.)

Week of June 8 – TBD based on student needs.

ELA 8-5 and 8-6 Outsiders Update – Rough and good copies of all Tuff Talks (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12) will be due on Tues. June 2.  Students will also have a reading response due then, which will be introduced in the next couple of days.

We are just finishing up the novel Outsiders, students should be finished rough copies of Tuff Talks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10.   Still to do Tuff Talk 11 and 12, plus the reading response.  Everything (rough and good copies) will be due early next week (Mon or Tues).

ELA Outsiders Novel Update.  We have read up to Chap. 7.  Students are expected to have rough copies of Tuff Talks: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7.  Good copies of the Tuff Talks will be due at the end of the novel.  Both copies are to be handed in.   

Tuff Talks should each be a minimum of half a page single spaced.   The writing is to be in-depth and detailed.  Students are to show thought and take their time in writing.

Extra Help and Binder Organization

Tuesday, May 19 at lunch.

As exams will be in approximately a month, I will be offering extra help at lunch.   It is by choice for students to attend, and students are expected to have specific areas they have questions about.  Students are also welcome to come and study quietly.

              ELA     PPT Poetry 8-5 and 8-6 Due Thurs. April 16

               We have been working on this project for the last week.  Students have         an instruction sheet and most are finished.
