Note – that Thursday Feb. 26 is a normal school day.  Students will write the SS midterm in per.1 and 2 in their homerooms.  The day will then continue as a normal school day, and students are expected to be at school.

Early People: vocabulary, time periods, development of humans (ex. Cro-Magnon), settlements, fire, mysteries from the past, etc.
 
Mesopotamia: inventions, structures
 
Egypt: vocabulary, inventions, hieroglyphs, mummification, [...]

SS Midterm and Extra Help Times

Study Guide will be out on Thursday.  Students have already been given some suggestions of what to start studying: centuries (ex. 19th C covers what time period?), time vocab. (A.D., circa, etc.), vocab. from Intro to History (visual history, etc.).

SS mid-term exam on Feb 26.  It will cover from the beginning of the year to the Egyptians (including the Egyptians).  Students will receive a study guide, and we will review in class.  Students should be studying on their own time also.  Extra help times will be provided.

ELA update for 8-5 and 8-6

In our Reading Workshop, we are currently reading Dust, of which we do not have enough copies to send home with each student.  Therefore it is rare for students to have homework in regards to RW for now.  If an individual is behind, then he or she may borrow a book to catch up. 8-5 [...]

We are the midst of working on our end of unit project for Egypt.  It will be due on Wed., Feb. 18.    Students are expected to do some work at home.
